Wildlife Training
Saturday, May 6, 2023
Location:
Join A Place Called Hope for a Power Point and Video Instruction on ways to safely assess and rescue dangerous species of wild birds. This class is designed to arm you with the knowledge necessary to safely attempt rescues that will assist the already overwhelmed licensed wildlife rehabilitators in CT. Getting the distressed birds contained and transported is critical to the process. In this four hour seminar you will learn how to attempt a safe rescue and how to properly transport the distressed bird to a licensed facility for rehabilitation care. Birds like raptors, mergansers, geese, swans, and herons will be covered. You will also create the proper rescue gear kit to keep in your vehicle for distressed wildlife calls you might respond to. This class does not offer hands on training. It is our recommendation that you volunteer at a facility to gain further experience to avoid injuries in the field.
